BSS 2026 brings researchers and practitioners together to address the security, privacy, performance and dependability challenges that limit real-world blockchain adoption.
Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies can support trustworthy coordination without a central authority. Their use now extends beyond digital currencies into the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, healthcare, logistics, e-government, finance and next-generation networks.
These applications also expose difficult research problems. Security weaknesses can affect consensus, smart contracts, wallets, identity systems and cross-chain services. Scalability constraints can limit throughput, latency, storage efficiency and energy use. BSS 2026 provides a focused forum for rigorous methods, practical systems, measurements, attacks, defences and lessons from deployment.
The workshop also examines the growing convergence of blockchain with Agentic AI, large language models and trustworthy AI. It welcomes research on verifiable agent actions, secure coordination between autonomous agents, provenance for AI-generated decisions, decentralised trust and accountability for AI-enabled services.
Zero Trust principles offer another important direction. BSS 2026 encourages work on continuous verification, decentralised identity, policy enforcement, least-privilege access and blockchain-backed auditability across distributed and AI-enabled systems.
The workshop welcomes contributions from academia, industry and government. It values work that clearly states its threat model, evaluation assumptions, limitations and practical implications.
